CDL: Tuition and Fees

Tuition and Fees:

Tuition, fees and charges are determined by Board of Trustees of Community College District No. 508 which operates the City Colleges of Chicago. These are subject to change at any time by the Board.

All tuition, fees and charges are payable in full at registration. Payment may be made by cash, check* (personal checks require proper identification), Mastercard, VISA, certified check, cashier’s check or money order.

IMPORTANT:

TUITION AND FEES OBLIGATION
Students who register for classes have a legal obligation to pay all appropriate tuition and fees. Payment is due at registration. Unpaid tuition and fees are subject to the collection procedures of the college, which may include placing holds on future registration, withholding transcripts and possible referral to a collection agency.

REFUNDS
Tuition refunds are issued to eligible students based upon the official date of withdrawal. Students must officially inform the college that they are withdrawing from class(es) by completing a withdrawal form and having it processed in the Registrar's Office. Full refund of tuition and fees is granted if the college cancels a course.

REGISTRATION FEE
$25.00 non-refundable. This charge is required of all students.

CHICAGO RESIDENTS
$72.00 per credit hour**

RESIDENTS OF ILLINOIS OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO
$180.83 per credit hour (includes $72.00 per credit hour fee + $108.83 out-of-district surcharge)

OUT-OF STATE RESIDENTS & FOREIGN STUDENTS**
$291.61 per credit hour (includes $72.00 per credit hour fee + $219.61 out-of-state surcharge)

**Please note that tuition for web-based courses
is $72.00 per credit hour regardless of student residency.

Please note that out-of-district and out-of-state fees are not covered by financial aid.

Miscellaneous Fees and Charges:

ACTIVITY FEE
$50.00 non-refundable fee

LATE REGISTRATION CHARGE
An additional $25.00 non-refundable fee will be charged to students who register or pay their tuition during the Late Registration period.

CDL LICENSE FEE
$30.00 for each Center for Distance Learning Course. This fee covers the cost of the licensing software and course content used in the development and delivery of the course.

LABORATORY FEE
$20.00 non-refundable for each lab class.

TRANSCRIPTS
Every student is entitled to one free transcript. $5.00 is charged for each additional transcript requested. 24-hour service carries a $10.00 charge.

RETURNED CHECK FEE
A $25 charge will be assessed for any check returned by the bank, and no subsequent payment by check will be allowed at any of the City Colleges of Chicago
